Cenno Upstairs

Description

The upstairs flat is separate from the main house with its own entrance. As the house is built on a hill you enter the upstairs over a little bridge.

It has two double bedrooms and one bathroom. There is an open plan kitchen and dining room. It has central heating, a washing machine and dishwasher. It has its own terrace and garden.

The terraces are part-shaded and ideal for those perfect Italian meals and there is nothing more relaxing than having a glass of wine and a dish of olives while watching the sun go down behind Montegiovi.

Set slightly apart from the house is a barn – The Studio, which is split level and can act as an additional double bedroom to either section of the house. It’s a great spot to admire the view. However, there is no bathroom, therefore, if it is used, the ground floor bathroom in the main house is just across the bottom terrace.

Upstairs Rooms

The Sant Antonio room

In times past the owner would sleep on the top floor and this would have been the main bedroom. There is a small alcove which was the original idea of an indoor toilet. The room is named after Sant Antonio the patron saint for lost causes.

It has two single beds that can be connected together as a double and there is a wonderful view from the window of Castel del Piano up on the hill and out past a cypress tree down into the valley.

The Nursery room

This room is in the original end of the house, dating back to 1648. The original house was a single room size building before the house was extended. It has exposed Tuscan beams and a double bed.

It was originally called the nursery room but is now one of the main rooms. It is the larger of the bedrooms.

The kitchen, dining and bath rooms

The kitchen is open plan with the dining room. There is a wood fire for the winter months and in the summer the evening light streams through the windows.
