Arriving by air, you can fly to Pisa, Florence or Rome, then hire a car at the airport. Driving from Pisa is arguably the quickest.

From Pisa we advise using the coast motorway (E80) South, following signs to Livorno (though by-pass Livorno) and on towards Grosseto. If you are driving from Rome, take the same coast motorway (E80) North to Grosseto.

At the Grosseto Central turnoff take the road to Siena, then at Paganico follow signs for Mt Amiata, Castel del Piano and Archidosso. It is also possible to come from the North via Bologna, Florence and Siena to Paganico and then up to the mountain.

In Castel del Piano follow signs for Seggiano, but immediately on leaving Castel del Piano after some traffic islands, take the first left. If you pass the cemetero (cemetery) on your right, you have gone too far. After about 300 metres, winding under chestnut trees, Cenno is up the second track on the right. Welcome!
